The museum of Mongolian Fine Arts was opened on June 23, 1966.
This museum shows Mongolian Arts from the Paleolithic Age to the early 20th century and consists of several types, such as, Ancient Arts, Zanabazar’s schools and creative works, Tangka and Graphic paintings, Appliqué hangings, Tsam ritual dance and Mongolian folk art and architecture.

Museum Opening Hours:

Summer and autumn:                 Everyday 9am-6pm

Winter and spring:                     Everyday 10am-5pm

The Museum is closed on Mongolian Lunar New Year (Tsagaan Sar), 1st of January and 1st of June.

Akira KAMIMURA, lecturer, faculty of Mongolian studies, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies launched an innovative website on old Mongolian manuscripts maps in cooperation with the state archive of Mongolia. It contains 16 precious maps which are stored at the state archive for academic use. The oldest map was estimated being made in 1803-1805.
