This year is on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Russian and Mongolian joint space flight.
In March 22, 1981, Mongolian and Russian joint cosmonaut’s made a space flight by “Soyuz-39”, “Salyut-6”, including, Gurragchaa Jugderdemid, Vladimir Janibekov with Vladimir Kovalyonk and Victor Savinikh. They concluded several research projects of atmosphere and the world’s nature resources.
When Gurragchaa went to Russia to vocational training, his mother gave him 10MNT and made a milk offering. One Mongolian great writer wrote a poem “Ten tugrug’, to comemorate this history. Many children who were born in March, 1981, were given a name containing the word Cosmos (Sansar), and also Gurragchaa’s name. For this great event, Russian cosmonauts have come to Mongolia today, to celebrate this 25th anniversary.
