The Mongolian committee “Horses of Mongolia” and “Gegeen tal” tour group of Inner Mongolia are going to organize a horse tour which’s name is “Horsemen-2006”,as part of the events of the “Great Mongolia-800”. The opening ceremony of the tour will be held, in the Chinggis Khaan’s Shrine in Inner Mongolia on June 15 and closing ceremony will be held in Ulaanbaatar on July 12. From “Gegeen tal” to Erlian, China it is 300km and f rom Zamiin-Uud, Mongolia to Ulaanbaatar it is 700 km, making up a total of 1000 kilometers The 80 people will participate into this tour are from both (Outer) Mongolia and Inner Mongolia. Also the organizers sent invitations to Khalimag (Kalmykia), Tuva and Buriatya, but participation has not yet been confirmed. Apart from organising the tour itself the committee looks into making documentary films, publishing books and opening an exhibition about this tour.

Foreign Studies launched an innovative website on old Mongolian
manuscripts maps in cooperation with the state archive of Mongolia. It contains 16 precious maps which are stored at the state archive for
academic use. The oldest map was estimated being made in 1803-1805.
