Number of Foreigners in Mongolia Growing |

In the first quarter of this year, a total of 6.5 thousand foreign
citizens from 72 different countries are working in Mongolia. Compared
to the same period of the previous year, the number of foreign
workforce increased by 14.6 percent or 0.8 thousand persons. 83.6
percent of the foreign citizens, who are employed under labor
contracts, are the men. 31.3 percent of the total foreign workforce is
the Chinese citizens, 24.8 percent - the Russians, 8.1 percent - the
Ukrainians, 5.5 percent - the Koreans, and 4.7 percent - the Americans.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, the number of the
Chinese and the Korean citizens in Mongolia grew up by 5.7-52.4
percent, and the number of the Ukrainian, Russian and Kazakh citizens
reduced by 5.1-16.5 percent. The number of foreign workforce employed
in construction, the state administration, defense and social insurance
sectors, is added by two-three fold. Every second foreigner, employed
under labor contracts, works in the mining and extraction sector.
