HIV/AIDS in Mongolia: 19 Cases Confirmed PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 16 April 2006

Just under two weeks ago Mongolia announced that it had found its 17th confirmed case of HIV/AIDS. In light of this the government is expanding their sexual health training within the military.

This past week there were two more cases confirmed raising the official number from 17 to 19. Today several student groups held an AIDS march handing out free condoms and information pamphlets on the streets of Ulaanbaatar, as well as taking young people to local hospitals to be tested for HIV/AIDS. All 19 cases that have been confirmed are people between the ages of 25-35.
