VACANCY NOTICE

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH seeks
to recruit a qualified professional for the following position:

National Junior Expert
The National Junior Expert will be working under the direct guidance
and supervision of the Technical Advisor of the Khangai Nuuru project.
The project is part of a broader program on Conservation and
Sustainable Management of Natural Resources with a head office in
Ulaanbaatar. Duty station is Tsetserleg (Arkhangai Aimag).

Tasks and responsibilities
The National Junior Expert will be trained on the job by assisting the
Technical Advisor in all aspects of management, coordination and
fieldwork. In particular, this will include assisting in:
 planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating project activities
at the Aimag, Soum and Bag level
 carrying out participatory research in the field
 establishing a multi-stakeholder process working with local
authorities, NGOs and user groups
 awareness raising and environmental education
 logistics and administration of all project activities
 preparing, supporting and following-up as regards research and
consultancies

Requirements
 Relevant university degree (agronomy, forestry, geography and/or
social sciences) and a minimum of one year of practical field experience
 Ability and willingness to work in the field under sometimes adverse
conditions
 Ability and willingness to travel and keep flexible working hours
 Proactive and reliable personality, good interpersonal and
communication skills when dealing with a broad range of diverse actors
 Proficiency in written and spoken English, knowledge of German
language would be an asset
 Excellent computer skills (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, internet software)
