VACANCY NOTICE

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH seeks
to recruit a qualified professional for the following position:

English - Mongolian Translator
The translator will work with and under the supervision of the
Technical Advisor for the Khangai Nuuru project. The project is part
of a broader program on Conservation and Sustainable Management of
Natural Resources. Duty station is Tsetserleg (Arkhangai Aimag).

Tasks and responsibilities
The focus will be on translating at formal and informal meetings and
discussions with staff, partner institutions and a wide range of other
stakeholders. The translator/interpreter will accompany the Technical
Advisor and team when conducting fieldwork in sometimes remote areas
of the Khangai Nuuru. Furthermore, the translation of written
documents, such as correspondence, reports, technical papers and
studies from English into Mongolian and vice versa may be requested.

Requirements
 Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English and Mongolian
 University degree would be an asset but not mandatory depending on
alternative qualifications
 At least 2-3 years of relevant working experience
 Ability and willingness to work in the field under sometimes adverse
conditions
 Ability and willingness to travel and keep flexible working hours
 Integrity and tact when interpreting confidential or sensitive issues
 Proactive personality, good interpersonal and communication skills
 Familiarity with terminology in Natural Resource Management would be
an asset
 Knowledge of German language would be an asset
