Bellingham Public Library. Prof. Edward Vajda, Director of the Center for
East Asian Studies at WWU, will give a talk on "Chinggis Khan and World
History". Free and open to the public.

Whatcom Community College Heiner Center. Lecture demonstration by members
of Tumen Ekh. Free and open to the public.
May 11, 7:00 p.m.
Whatcom Museum of History and Art, Rotunda Room. The Sound Essence
Project, a Bellingham-based nonprofit devoted to preserving and sharing
Mongolian culture, presents a slide show presentation about the group’s
cultural exchange and sustainable living programs with Mongolian artists,
storytellers, youth and elders. Free and open to the public.

WWU Wilson Library 4th Floor Reading Room. Grand opening of the office of
the American Center for Mongolian Studies at Western Washington
University.
May 12, 2:00 - 10:00 p.m.
Performing Arts Center Lobbies. Art exhibition featuring works by
Shagdarjav Chimeddorj, renowned Mongolian landscape painter of horses, and
selections from the Sound Essence Project’s 2005 youth art project
entitled, "What Does Peace Look Like?" Free and open to the public.
