Arts Council of Mongolia launches "Rainbow Horses" PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 24 April 2006
The Arts Council of Mongolia will realize a project Rainbow Horses . This is one of the packages of activities being carried out by the Council for the 800th anniversary celebration of the Great Mongol Empire. Under the project, a total of 88 stuffed horses images will be created to distribute to secondary schools in the Ulaanbaatar City, Tov, Khentii, Bayankhongor, Omnogobi, and Ovorkhangai aimags. These horses will be decorated by urban and rural youths and professional artists on the basis of legends, history, fine art works, and poems related to horses. Original images of the horses have been designed by the students and teacher G.Sereeter of the Fine Art Institute. An exhibition of the 88 horses will be displayed during the Rainbow Horses child arts festival to be held in Ulaanbaatar in June. The project is jointly financed by the "BHP Billiton" mining company, the Agricultural Bank, the French Embassy in Mongolia, and the French Cultural Center in Ulaanbaatar.
