Ivanhoe Mines sees end of protest and closes deal PDF Print E-mail
Written by Ulaanbaatar correspondent
Wednesday, 26 April 2006
Mongolia Web News, Ulaanbaatar - Ivanhoe Mines (TSX:IVN)(NYSE:IVN)(NASDAQ:IVN) announced today that the company has closed its previously announced bought-deal equity financing for gross proceeds of C$189 million (US$166 million). In news earlier this week it became clear that the government of Mongolia made an agreement with the protesters against the stability pact with Ivanhoe Mines. This agreement ended a period where Ivanhoe and other mining companies were being attacked with allegations they were to exploit Mongolian mineral resources and not feeding enough back to Mongolia, while taking mineral resources and harming the environment.

The bought-deal equity financing, including the exercise of the over-allotment option, consisted of 18,400,000 common shares issued from treasury at a price of C$10.28 per share (US$9.04 per share).
The securities offered have not been registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933, as amended, and may not be offered or sold in the United States absent registration or an applicable exemption from the registration requirements. This news release shall not constitute an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to buy nor shall there be any sale of the securities in any State in which such offer, solicitation or sale would be unlawful.

Ivanhoe shares are listed on the Toronto and New York stock exchanges and NASDAQ under the symbol IVN.
