Mongolia's 20th case of HIV/AIDS confirmed PDF Print E-mail

Mongolia Web News, Ulaanbaatar. The Government of Mongolia announced that 19th confirmed case of HIV/AIDS had found and estimated 3 people died. Yesterday, on May 03, L.Gundalai, minister Health, made a public release and announced 20th case of HIV confirmed. 30 years old man does business between Ulaanbaatar city and countryside and he is not married. He said doctors that he may be was infected HIV from prostitute, 5 years ago and now he is in one hospital in UB and feels not good.

HIV/AIDS is not only a health problem — it contributes to hunger, wipes out years of socio-economic progress and has disastrous financial effects on families. A new 26-part Mongolian television series to help public awareness about HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections was launched at the Tengis Theatre on April 28.

Does Mongolia have any privacy laws or regulations in effect to maintian the confidentiality of HIV patients?
