Mongolia Web News, Ulaanbaatar. Hilton Hotels Corporation (NYSE:HLT) has announced it will open a hotel in Mongolia. In cooperation with Star Estates Company Ltd. it will start building a hotel in the very center of Ulaanbaatar, near the Children's Park, close to the Peace Bridge.
Mongolia has been trying for several years to get an intenrtaional chain of hotels to open a Branch in Mongolia. Earlier the international chain of Shangri-La Hotels tried building a hotel, but these plans - that were developed in cooperation with the local MCS Holding - have been postponed, and instead an office complex will be constructed on the east side of Sukhbaatar Square.
Hilton Hotels has nearly 2,700 hotels and 475,000 rooms in more than 80 countries, with 150,000 team members worldwide.
Hilton Hotels Corporation and Star Estates Company Ltd sign management agreement for Hilton Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia
Singapore, 09 May 2006 - Hilton Hotels Corporation, the world's leading
hospitality company, and real estate developer Star Estates Company Ltd
announced the signing of an agreement for Hilton to manage Hilton
Ulaanbaatar, the newest and most lavish hotel development in the heart
of Mongolia's capital.
Scheduled to open in May 2008, Hilton Ulaanbaatar is ideally situated
in the central area of downtown Ulaanbaatar, adjoined to Ulaanbaatar's
premier residential complex, lending further prestige to the hotel.
Corporate and leisure travellers will find ease of convenience as the
Hilton Ulaanbaatar is in close proximity to government buildings and
corporate offices, as well as key attractions like the Nayramdal Park,
also known as the National Recreational Park.
The Hilton Ulaanbaatar will provide 240 spacious and luxurious
guestrooms, and four cutting edge restaurants and bars bringing new
standards of cuisine and service to the city. Conference and Banqueting
facilities will include a 500-seater ballroom and seven meeting rooms.

The city of Ulaanbaatar is situated north and slightly east of the
centre of Mongolia, on the Tuul River, a sub tributary of the Selenga,
in the valley at the foot of Bogda Uul mountain. Ulaanbaatar is served
by the Chinggis Khan International Airport (formerly Buyant Ukhaa
Airport) and is connected by road to most of the major towns in
Mongolia and by rail to the Trans-Siberian railway and Chinese railroad
systems.
The signing ceremony was officiated by Mr Koos Klein, President Middle
East & Asia Pacific of Hilton's International Division and Mr
Tsenguun of Star Estates Company.
