Wednesday, 24 May 2006
Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/. One of the great cultural heritages created by the Mongolian people is the national script. During its development process of more than 1,000 years, the traditional script has been developed as an independent art with many kinds of forms such as, calligraphy, artistic writing, and shorthand. Within the framework of the 800th anniversary celebration of the Great Mongol Empire, the Linguistics and Civilization Institute named after Choi.Luvsanjav will conduct the national calligraphy contest for the tenth time in two stages on May 25 in the Fine Art Gallery. A winner of the competition will receive cash saward of 200 thousand togrogs. The two runners-up will be awarded with 160 thousand and 120 thousand togrogs, respectively. The best calligraphic works will be displayed at an exhibition.
