Malaysia's minister visit to Mongolia PDF Print E-mail

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/. The Foreign Affairs Minister of Malaysia, Mr. Dato Seri Saeed Hamid Albar paid an official visit to Mongolia on May 20-21, 2006 at the invitation of Mr. N.Enkhbold, Mongolian Minister of Foreign Affairs. During the visit, the two Ministers held official talks to exchange views on wide range issues related to the relations and cooperation between the two countries and to mutually express their positions on regional and international matters. A joint statement of Mongolia and Malaysia was issued on the results of the Malaysian Minister s visit to Mongolia. The statement noted that Mongolia and Malaysia have developed friendly relations and cooperation since September 9, 1971 where the two sides established the diplomatic relations.


The sides reached agreements to push towards the bilateral ties to promote the mutual beneficial collaboration in the trade, economic, agricultural, animal husbandry, construction, small and medium sized enterprises, education, and tourism sectors, and strengthen the intergovernmental ties. The sides expressed that the bilateral official talks on the international and regional issues will deepen the mutual understanding between the two countries. The two Ministers agreed to provide the senior officials of the two Foreign Affairs Ministries with possibilities for mutually exchanging information and regularly consulting on the cooperation issues. The sides agreed to arrange the term and the levels of delegates of the consultative meetings through the diplomatic channels and to hold the meetings in Ulaanbaatar and Kuala Lumpur. The sides also accorded to survey possibilities for founding a joint Cooperation Commission. The two men appreciated outcomes of the regularization of mutual visits of the two Ministries` officials and businessmen and the expansion of exchange of young people to the promotion of the bilateral cooperation. The Malaysian Minister confirmed to go on the technical assistance that is given to Mongolia from the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program. The Mongolian Ministers expressed his thanks to the Malaysian Government on behalf of the Government of Mongolia for involving the Mongolian state employees in trainings and rendering technical assistances. The two sides stressed that the Technical Cooperation Program of Malaysia makes a weighty contribution to bring nearer the bilateral relations by a way of extending the ties between the people. The Mongolian side expresses to approve the incresase of direct investment from Malaysia to Mongolia in particular infrastructure and construction sectors. The sides accorded to strengthen the bilateral collaboration with the scope of the international and regional institutions including the ACEAN Regional Forum, Asian Cooperation Talks, UN, and Non-Aligned Movement. The Malaysian side expressed to support Mongolia s membership to the APEC and ACEM. The Malaysian Foreign Affairs Minister Mr. Dato Seri Saeed Ahmaid Albar invited the Mongolian Foreign Affairs Minister Mr. N.Enkhbold to pay an official visit to Malaysia.
