Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/. A guideline for the Mongolian representatives,
who are to attend the nineth meeting of the Joint Commission on
Cooperation between Mongolia and the European Union, was approved on
Wednesday at a regular Cabinet meeting. Mr. M.Enkhsaikhan, Deputy
Premier and Head of the Mongolian group of the Joint Commission, was
ordered to adopt the compound of Mongolian delegatess, who will attend
the meeting that is to take place in Ulaanbaatar on July 7-8, 2006. The
meeting will provide information on political, socio-economic
situation, and foreign affairs of Mongolia and the European Union and
will discuss opportunities for boosting the bilateral collaboration in
the educational, environmental, and energy sectors. The two sides will
express their positions on issues related to the conclusion of
partnership and cooperaiton agreements, deducting Mongolia from the
list of non market economic countries, letting the European Parliament
adopt a resolution on Mongolian political and socio-economic
situations. Under the EU addition programs, Mongolia aims at
cooperating with the EU in processing garbage, cleaning wastewater,
decreasing air pollution, improving UB funds and supplies and using
renewable energy in local areas. The EU has decided to open its
cooperation office in Ulaanbaatar and the office s opening ceremony
will take place during the above meeting.
