Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/. On the occasion of the 30th jubilee of the establishment of the Erdenet City, Days of Erdenet launched on Wednesday in Ulaanbaatar. A trade fair Made in Erdenet was opened same day in the National Information Technology Park. The fair displays the best food, meat, and textile products, carpets, woolen, cashmere clothes, and metal spare parts. A fine art exhibition featuring about the history and development of Erdenet was opened in the Art Galley of the Union of Mongolian Artists. Moreover, artists from Erdenet together with the professional artists will play the famous Mongolian opera Three Mainly Heads in the State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The Erdenet Ensemble will give a concert Sings - Erdenet for audiences of Ulaanbaatar. The 30th jubilee of the Erdenet City will be celebrated on July 21-24, 2006. At present, the population of the city is 100 thousand. The city produces over 30 percent of the total export products of Mongolia. The city paid 7.8 billion togrogs to the state budget last year and it plans to deposit 8.2 billion togrogs in the state budget this year.
