Two positions are available with the Zoological Society of London's
Steppe Forward Programme to translate the Mongolian Biodiversity
Databank from English to Mongolian.
The Mongolian Biodiversity
Databank is a Data Entry Module (DEM) based on a database created by
the IUCN. The database has been managed by the Steppe Forward
Programme, based at the National University of Mongolia. Information on
all Mongolian mammal and fish species was entered into this database
during a workshop in November 2005 and has been continuously edited and
updated. To make this database more accessible and readily updated
locally we now aim to translate the DEM into Mongolian.
Position 1. Translate
text describing Mongolian fish, mammals and reptiles and amphibians
from English into Mongolian. The text covers many aspects of these
animals' ecology and conservation status, so candidates bilungual in
these terms would be preferred.
Position 2. Someone
with knowledge of databases, specifically Access databases, is sought
to translate the Data Entry Module program from English to Mongolian.
The Mongol Uls Mongolia Network provides information about different aspects of Mongolia, including culture, religion, language and other traditions.
Mongol Uls is the Mongolian word for Mongolia.
