Image Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/. In July of 2006, the consumer price index increased by 47.8 percent compared with the end of 2000, by 1.8 percent from the corresponding period of previous year, by 5.9 percent from the end of previous year and decreased by 0.2 percent compared with previous month. In July of 2006, the prices of groups such as foodstuff, clothing, footwear and cloth, water, electricity, fuels and communication decreased by 0.1-0.8 percent. As a result of this decreases overall index went down by 0.2 percent. Prices of groups alcoholic beverages, tobacco, furnishings, household equipment, tools and recreation and culture increased by 0.2-0.9 percent. But the prices of goods and services of other groups remained stable. In July of 2006, the consumer price index decreased by 0.2-1.4 percent in Darkhan-Uul, Ovorkhangai, Bulgan, Bayan-Olgii, Bayankhongor, Dornogobi, Tov, and Gobisumber aimags compared to the previous month. Prices in the rest of aimags, consumer price index increased by 0.3-2.4 percent.

Akira KAMIMURA, lecturer, faculty of Mongolian studies, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies launched an innovative website on old Mongolian manuscripts maps in cooperation with the state archive of Mongolia. It contains 16 precious maps which are stored at the state archive for academic use. The oldest map was estimated being made in 1803-1805.
