KHADAK RECEIVES THE "LUIGI DE LAURENTIS" PRIZE FOR FIRST FICTION FILM IN VENICE
Khadak was awarded the LION OF THE FUTURE - Premio Venezia Opera Prima “Luigi De Laurentiis” prize at the the 63rd Venice Film Festival.
WORLD PREMIERE IN VENICE
KHADAK will have its world premiere on August 31st in the Giornate degli Autori/Venice Days section of the festival. KHADAK is competing for the festival's Luigi de Laurentiis prize for first fiction film.

SOUTH AMERICAN PREMIERE IN SAO PAULO
KHADAK will be presented at the 30th Sao Paulo International Film Festival taking place between October 20th and November 2nd, 2006.
NEW TITLE
The film carried the working title 'The Colour of Water' throughout the production. At the very end of the sound mix KHADAK became the natural choice of title for the film. The word KHADAK means a sacred blue ceremonial scarf, an element which appears at key moments in the story.
TIME MAGAZINE COVERS 'MINE-GOLIA'
An August, 2006 issue of Time magazine included a 7-page spread about Mongolia and mining entitled 'The New El Dorado' written by Michael Schuman. KHADAK is an indirect reflection of the anxieties and turbulence produced by controversial mining policies.
