Opening of the Mongolian-language International Theatre Festival PDF Print E-mail

Montsame reports: The 4th Mongol-speaking international theatre festival started in theatres of Ulaanbaatar and rural areas on Friday. The festival brought together artists from theatres of the Buryat, Kalmyk and Tuva Republics, Russia and Inner Mongolia, China. One of the peculiarities of this year’s festival, the festival is organized once every three years, is the simultaneous opening ceremony that took place in Ulaanbaatar and in local areas.

Almost all Mongolian theatres such as the State Academic Theatre of Drama, State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, Theatre of Puppets, of Military Song and Dance Ensemble are partaking in the festival, which will last five days. The general organizers of the events are the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the State Academic Theatre of Drama and Association of Mongolian Artists.
