136 Falcons exported from Mongolia to Arabian countries PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 05 October 2006
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Mongolian Government has permitted the Ministry of Environment to export 300 saker falcons this year. The Government fixed the prize of one falcon at 9,800 US dollars. For the time being, in total 136 falcons have been exported to Arabian countries such as Kuwait, Saudi Arab and Qatar. Significant changes in this number are not expected, since the term for falcon catching comes to an end on October 30. Saker falcons are found mostly in the Tov, Bayankhongor, and Dundgobi districts of Mongolia. There are more than 7,000 saker falcons in Mongolia, according to surveys.
