Renewable energies - Danish Representatives visit Mongolia PDF Print E-mail

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Mr L. Mikaelsen, the accredited Ambassador of Denmark to Mongolia in Beijing, Mr J. Christensen, the Danish Embassy Attache responsible for environmental and energy issues, and directors of 11 energy companies have paid a business visit to Mongolia. At the press conference called with the media by the Danish representatives, the Ambassador Mr Mikaelsen expressed his satisfaction with cooperation agreements concluded with Mongolian Parliament Speaker Mr Ts. Nyamdorj, Deputy Minister of Coal and Energy, T. Enkhtaivan, the Ulaanbaatar City Manager General G. Munkhbayar, and general engineer of the Heating Network Department.

During his visit to Denmark in 2006, Mr. Nyamdorj expressed an interest of Mongolia to study experiences of Denmark in developing renewable and wind energies. For this reason, the Danish representatives paid the above visit to become au fait with current developments in the energy sector. The delegates expressed a willingness to render energy-related technical and technological assistance to Mongolia. The Danish Ambassador pledged to assist Mongolia in creating supplies of renewable and wind energies in Ulaanbaatar, Darkhan and Erdenet cities as well as in rural areas.

Akira KAMIMURA, lecturer, faculty of Mongolian studies, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies launched an innovative website on old Mongolian manuscripts maps in cooperation with the state archive of Mongolia. It contains 16 precious maps which are stored at the state archive for academic use. The oldest map was estimated being made in 1803-1805.
