Monday, 16 October 2006
MonInfo reports: Members of the Democratic Party Executive Board in parliament and two independent members of parliament signed on the petition letter to resign the current Government addressed to the Speaker of Parliament Ts.Nyamdorj, and submitted it on Friday afternoon, government officials said.

L. Gansukh, Chairman of the Democratic Party Executive Board introduced the reading of the petition letter to the parliament speaker.

“The government lead by M. Enkhbold can not work with integrated policies and cabinet principle. Opposing Ministers have conflicts of interest and can not work as one team and have taken advantage of their position acting wantonly,” the DP letter stated.

“Secondly, the situation of citizens’ interests’ violence and law deviation has been wide-spread. Works to fight against corruption have been stopped and cases that could be counted as billions of tugrug are now little donations. Land businessman, M. Enhkbold is egging it on. Lastly, the government isn’t running a long-term policy which will significantly influence the development of Mongolia. Foreign loans, assistance and investment money have been dividedly embezzled.”

On Sunday Prime Minister Enkhbold responded to not only the DP, but the citizens of Mongolia, reinforcing his belief in the current government and defending the works of his cabinet, which took power in January.
