Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A Great Mongol - Great Future forum for young people took place in Ulaanbaatar on October 21-22. The Mongolian President's Office, Mongolian Student Union and the Ulaanbaatar City Democratic Socialist Student Union administered the forum organised on the occassion of the 800th anniversary celebration of the Great Mongol Empire. The forum aims to reflect ideas and voices of young people on state development policy and activities, and develop cooperation with them. Around 150 young people were scheduled to take part in the forum and other scientific, arts and cultural events which were also attended by 120 delegates from the Ministries of Construction and Urban Development, the Defense, the Trade and Industry, the Education, Culture and Science and the Ulaanbaatar City Health Department. The forum discussed several pressing issues. The Ministry of Construction and Urban Development held open talks on town planning, implementation of the "Apartments complex for 40 thousand families," on strengthening the national production and on reforms in the educational system. The attendees also discussed a plan on improving relations between the above ministries and NGOs. Updated 24 October 2006.
