Mongolia's Sixth Contingent Returns from Iraq PDF Print E-mail

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. 100 troops of the sixth Mongolian military contingent Steppe Eagle returned home from Iraq on Tuesday. They are back after performing duties since March 2006 in the Iraqi Freedom international peacekeeping mission. The "Eco" military base where Mongolian troops bore a responsibility for surveillance was 91 times subjected to terrorists attacks. Since 2003, Mongolian military contingents have been taking part in reconstruction and humanitarian activities in Iraq performing surveillance duties in the multinational division led by Poland. prior to January 2006, Mongolian troops were also executing duties in the Charley military base in Al Hillah.
