Thursday, 02 November 2006
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. A meeting of the Central Asian Regional Administrative Council to combat doping will be held in Ulaanbaatar on November 4-5. The World Anti-Doping Agency has divided member countries of the International Olympic Committee into their territorial locations and is setting up regional centers with the intention of intensifying the struggle against doping. Within this scope, the first meeting on the establishment of an agency against doping in the Central Asian Region was organized in May 2006 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Region includes eight countries: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kirghizstan, Mongolia, Pakistan and Iran. The above upcoming meeting will choose a country where the Central Asian Regional center against doping will be set up and will discuss the center's structure, organization, budget and business plan.
