Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The Women's Union of Laos and the International Women's Society in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, jointly arranged a trade fair on November 19 in the Trade and Economic Cooperation Center. Officials of the Mongolian Embassy in Vientiane took part in the event, advertising Mongolia within the scope of the celebration of the 800th anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire. Portraits of all khans of the Golden line of Chinggis Khan up until Ligden Khan as well as of women of ethnic groups in Traditional Mongolian costumes were displayed in order to publicize Mongolia. Laotians and other foreign citizens visited the Mongolian pavillion to buy handicraft works and souvenirs while enjoying Mongolian national food. The guests were shown videos featuring traditions and customs of the Mongolian nation, its beautiful nature and current development. According to the organizers, more than three thousand people participated in the event. Image: Pha That Luang Stupa in Vientiane, Laos, copyright Jaroslav.
