Rather unlike its Southern neighbour Mongolia has developed an active policy to increase its population. At this moment the fourth national conference on reproductive health is being held in Ulaanbaatar, discussing the third renovated program on
reproductive health. The third programs aims to support sustainable
growth of the Mongolian population by a way of adequately and reliably
delivering the health and social assistance and services. According to
a survey, 47.1 percent of pregnant mothers lack iron, 37.1 percent is
in shortage of vitamin D. Poor and low income segments of society as well as those living in remote areas have limited or no access to medical services. The third program focuses on improving the
reproductive health services, strengthening the human resources
capacity of health organizations and on increasing the supply of
necessary professional doctors and specialists.
