Mongolia Web News, Ulaanbaatar. On December 1st Mongolia observed World Aids Da, as many countries in the world. The purpose of this day is to inform young and older people about the effects of AIDS. It was the 15th time Mongolia celebrated World Aids day since its initial launch in 1992.

Mongolia has a number of 26 official registered HIV infections, but it is assumed this is only the top of the iceberg. Specialists consider that there is actually around 500 people infected with HIV. They are encouraging all people to have AIDS test as it is essential to gain knowledge and to be able to protect society and stop spread of AIDS.

The last two occurrence of HIV infection appeared in Khuvsgul province last September, which was another indicator that everybody is exposed to the threat of AIDS whether you live in city or countryside.`

As a public campaign a number of celebrities had AIDS tests to try to trigger people to do the same. Bolormaa, Model and director of the "Mongol Model" agency says:

I had a AIDS test when I was abroad a months ago. Everyone should take care of their health. If you are healthy you will have clear thinking and I think person who put heath first can be successful. 

B.Bathishig, singer of the popular band "Lumino" says:

I already had AIDS test. If everyone can be a faithful to their family, AIDS is not as much a threat. Single people should always use a condom.
