Mongolian eKnowledge CAMPUS™ launched PDF Print E-mail

Other Mongolia Development Gateway Mongolian e-Knowledge Mongolia is on its way online. On April 20 2007 the Mongolian e-Knowledge CAMPUS will officially be launched and introduced, with a delegation headed by Dr. G. Podlacha of Germany coming to Ulaanbaatar.A new opportunity to learn, collaborate and participate for Mongolia.

The newly established Mongolian e-Knowledge (MeK) NGO has jointly with various private and governmental partners developed the e-Knowledge CAMPUS™. The CAMPUS will in future serve as the main e-learning platform of the country offering trainings and other services.

This is in line with Mongolia’s development strategy, in which information and communication technology is positioned as a key, and a vital, development factor promoting Mongolia’s “Information Communication Technology Vision-2010” and e-Mongolia program.

ICT in Mongolia
Mongolia has achieved significant progress in information and communication technology development. Initiatives from the private sector play an important role in IT development and Mongolia eKnowledge now introduces a full new service and opportunities.
 
The mission of the ICT Vision-2010 is to develop a society based on knowledge and intellectual potential, improving qualities of life for the people of Mongolia. To achieve this, the e-Knowledge CAMPUS will offer e-learning courses country wide on e.g. management, eSkills etc.
 
The strengths identified in the last e-Readiness report on Mongolia where – amongst others - high literacy rate, high percentage of young people, quick-learners, easily adapting to new situation, Government vision and donor’s commitment. This is what Mek based its CAMPUS on.
