Malaysian Deputy PM under fire over Altantuya Murder PDF Print E-mail

Najib Tun RazakMalaysian Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is willing to answer allegations levelled against him about murdered Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu. The Deputy Prime Minister was present at the nomination for a by-election. During the process of nomination, from 9 am to noon, supporters of the opposition political parties, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), PAS and the DAP, were heard shouting slogans   like “10%”, “Altantuya” and “Rasuah” (corruption).

“Yes, yes, of course. I have started to make my statement that night. It's all right, we are not afraid,” said the Deputy Prime Minister. 

On Wednesday night, Najib had told a Barisan Nasional gathering that he was not involved in the Altantuya case.  

He had also said that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the Attorney-General and the police knew the truth about the matter. 

Yesterday, Najib maintained what he had said on Wednesday night was within the law and that he did not want to go beyond that.
