Prime Minister's report on “40 thousand apartments” program PDF Print E-mail

Prime Minister of Mongolia, M.Enkhbold has made a report on the implementation of a "40 thousand apartments" program at a plenary meeting of the parliamentary session. According the Premier, 22 per cent of the Mongolian population lives in apartments. For this reason, the provision of population with apartments has come to be foremost goal of the construction sector. For this purpose, the Mongolian Government worked out the "40 thousand apartments" program in 2005. In accordance with the program a law has been approved on exempting some building materials and gears from customs duty and value added tax. In 2005, a total of TG 747.8 million was invested in the construction sector. This year, the figure will be increased up to 16 billion 428 million togrogs. Furthermore, in order to provide people with low and medium incomes, the Mongolian Government has issued bonds totaled at 60 billion togrogs. It is planned to put into operation this year in fours apartments in 126 soums centers and in 40s apartments in 21 aimags centers. As a result, 984 households will be provided with apartments in soum s centers and 1060 households in aimags centers.

I thoroughly approve of this program, increasing residential projects would be very benefitial for UB (it would lower the number of "ger" districts and thus lower the major smog problem), also there is an increasingly high demand for new apartments and prices are high as well.
