Beginning construction on Mongolia’s
new $20 million national library was celebrated Thursday. Officials
noted this is the largest investment in education and culture since
the end of the communist governments.
Participating in the ceremony
were President N.Enkhbayar, Minister of Education,
Culture and Science, N.Bolormaa, and other officials.
Funding for the library is
being provided by Kuwait and Mongolia.
During his speech, President
N.Enkhbayar noted that he has issued a decree that 50 volumes of world
literature will be translated into Mongolian for the new library. Once
accomplished, he has ordered the translated literature to be distributed
to schools and libraries throughout the country.

Something worth something to the Mongolian people- at least from an educational perspective.
Seems like- for a change- $20M has been put to good use.
