GAF has been awarded a half-million Euro contract to create a new computerized Mining Registry System for Mongolia.

Scheduled to begin in November, GAF will work to crate a transparent system to grant, manage and cancel mining permits.

The professional management of mining titles is considered a prerequisite to increase investment and growth in the mining sector of Mongolia.

The project’s objective is to strengthen the property rights and enforcements of agreements and contracts within Mongolia’s mining industry, improve the transparency of the mineral licensing process and government’s regulatory capacity through information and management.

A core element of the project is the development of a fully computerized mining registry system as existing computerized and non-computerized systems will be brought together within the new system.

GAF’s work will be performed for the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia. The project duration is 24 months and will be funded by the World Bank, International Development Association.
