Ulaanbaatar began its official 370th birthday celebration year on January 1.

City officials announced a wide range of civic improvement projects would be undertaken during the celebration year.

Specifically, 370 projects have been targeted by the city to help improve the city.

Among the projects mentioned was the conversion of the road into a highway crossing from the west of the city to the east. Also, a two-level road will be run on the crossroad in front of the Sapporo center and a new highway will connect the Yarmag district with the Bayanzurkh checkpoint.

Officials have set aside $120 million for these projects from the 2009 Mongolian and Ulaanbaatar Development Funds.
