North Korea North Korea media reports that Kim Yong-nam, the second most powerful man in North Korea, will soon visit Mongolia.

Kim, president of the Presidium of the North's Supreme People's Assembly, reportedly was issued an invitation for his visit by Mongolian President Nambariin Enkbayar.

North Korea recently agreed to allow rail travel from South Korea into North Korea and proceed through Mongolia to Russia and Europe.

Additionally, resource-starved North Korea may be interested in discussing joint mining projects in Mongolia.

International observers are certain North Korea has taken special interest in the numerous development and mining projects undertaken between South Korea and Mongolia in recent years.
