Two ministries were restructured
by the parliament on Wednesday.
While the new government will
see two deputy prime ministers along with 11 ministries, two important
ministries have been reorganized.
A new Ministry of Mining and
Energy has been created to replace the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
This is seen as recognition by the government of the vast potential
wealth available to the country through the mining sector.
Also, the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs will be replaced by a newly created Ministry of External Relations.
The new ministry will deal with economic matters as well as foreign
affairs.
In the June 29 national elections,
the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) won 44 seats and the
Democratic Party won 26 seats in the 76-member parliament.
A national unity government
has since been formed.
