Tugrug A decree has been issued to maintain minimum monthly living standards in the country. The decree became official on March 25 and will remain in place throughout 2009.

The Mongolian government’s National Statistics Commission announced the following minimum standards of living:

MNT 96,100 ($63) in western region provinces of Bayan-Olgii, Gobi-Altai, Zavkhan, Uvs and Khovd; MNT 90,600 ($59.48) in Khangai region provinces including Arkhangai, Bayankhongor, Bulgan, Ovorkhangai, Khovsgol and Orkhon; MNT 91,200 ($59.88) in central regions such as Gobi-Sumber, Dornogobi, Dundgobi, Omnogobi, Selenge, Tov and Darkhan-Uul; MNT 86,300 ($56.66) in eastern regions of Dornod, Sukhbaatar and Khentii;

MNT 101,100 ($66.38) in Ulaanbaatar
