Mongolian officials have begun rehearsing disaster plans in the event of a major railway accident.
Beginning Tuesday, an exercise named "Gobi Wolf-01" began in Ulaanbaatar to rehearse procedures to be followed following a rail accident.
Specifically, participants from emergency health care agencies, national and local bodies are reviewing their individual responsibilities and understanding how the various organizations interact during an emergency.
The exercise will include a mock accident with all agencies participating in an emergency scenario.
Gobi Wolf-01 is sponsored by the Embassy of the USA in Mongolia, the Asian Foundation, and U.S training center of disasters.
