Visit boosts ties between Japan and Mongolia

Mrs. Ch.Ogi, Chairman of the House of Advisors of the Japanese Parliament, expressed her striving to deepen the relations between Mongolia and Japan at her meeting with the Mongolian Prime Minister, who is in Japan on a working visit. The Premier expressed his gratitude to the Japanese Government for rendering assistance and support to the socio-economic reforms in Mongolia and noted that one of the leading trends of the foreign policy of Mongolia is to promote its ties and cooperation with Japan. Mr. Enkhbold strives to bring up the bilateral full-scale partnership to a new level in the upcoming decade and stressed that there are opportunities for widening the scope and effectiveness of the bilateral trade and economic collaboration. 2006 is announced in Japan as the Year of Mongolia for the 800th jubilee celebration of the Great Mongol State and the UN resolution on the nomadic civilization protection. In this connection, the Mongolian Government has made a decision to allow the Japanese tourists to visa-free visit Mongolia, pointed out the Premier and invited Mrs. Ch.Ogi to visit Mongolia during the 800th anniversary celebration. Mrs. Ch.Ogi said 2006 is celebrated in Japan as the Year of Mongolia for the 35th jubilee of the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations that is taking place next year. Mrs. Ogi marked possibilities for increasing the volume of investments from Japan in the mining sector of Mongolia as well as extending the bilateral cultural, educational, trade and economic ties. She expressed her aspiration to promote the ties between the two top legislative institutions. The Japanese-Mongolian Parliamentary Group was established in 1975 in the Hall of Advisors of the Japanese Parliament. The Parliamentary Group is led by Mr. H.Otsuji, the Japanese Minister of Health and Social Care.
