Nominjin is tipped to be a top contender for the Asian sector of a contest to find the world’s sexiest vegetarian, run by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Last year Nominjin drew media attention by posing for PETA’s vegetarian campaign in a gown made of lettuce leaves.
Her competitors for this year’s title include China’s pop star Faye W on g and TV star Zeng Li; Taiwanese singer and actor Barbie Hsu; Indian film stars Mahima Chaudhry, Vidya Balan, and Shahid Kapoor; Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachch Stephy Tang; and Taiwanese music legend Yaya Meng. Other veggie celebrities in search of the world title include actors Maggie Q, Hayden Panettiere, Natalie Portman, Milo Ventimiglia, and singers Anthony Kiedis and Leona Lewis.
PETA claims that vegetarian diets provide protection against ill health such as heart disease, cancer and stroke, and that meat-eaters are nine times more likely to be obese than vegans, so vegetarians are more likely to be slim, fit, and sexy.
“When you look at the more than 200 gorgeous celebrities in this year’s poll, it’s clear that there can be no bones about it: a vegetarian diet makes you beautiful, inside and out,” says PETA Asia-Pacific Director Jason Baker.
“After all, going vegetarian is the best thing that you can do for animals, the Earth, and yourself. Plus, every on e knows that there’s nothing sexier than some one who exudes both passion and compassion .” The poll closs at the end of the month, and the public is invited to register their opinion by contacting www.PETAAsiaPacific.com.
