QGX Ltd. (TSX: QGX ) announced Wednesday that drilling has begun at the Central Valley Zone of the Golden Hills site in western Mongolia.

The Central Valley Zone site is believed to contain large deposits of copper, gold and silver.

The drilling at the site is meant to fulfill requirements to convert the company’s exploration license to a mining license. As part of the process to obtain a mining license for the Central Valley Zone, QGX drilling will determine the location, quantity, and quality of water present in the area.

The drilling will include work on five holes for a total of 750 meters. Other studies underway include an environmental baseline study, a mining and milling progress design study, a preliminary feasibility study, and completion of a geological resource report.
