What’s your full name (name and patronymic)     Tany ovog neriig khen gedeg ve?    Таны овог нэрийг хэн гэдэг  вэ?                                                                           
My full name is Chuluuny Bold.         Minii ovog ner Chuluuny Bold.     Миний овог нэр Чулууны Болд.                                                    

Mongolian addresses one another by name, relationship or job title plus the word guai, which is polite, or an appropriate long vowel, forming a vocative:
Hey Bat!                                  Bataa!                                                  Бат аа!

Dorj!                                        Dorjoo !                                               Дорж оо!

Mr Dorj!                                  Dorj guai!                                             Дорж гуай!    

Mrs/Miss Dulmaa!                    Dulmaa guai!                                        Дулмаа гуай!

Dad!                                          Aavaa!                                                 Аав аа!

Waiter!                                    Zöögch öö!                                          Зөөгч өө!

Excuse me, sir/madam!           Khün guai!                                            Хүн гуай!

My child! (to a young person)     Khüükhee!                                           Хүүх ээ!

People in authority are addressed as khündet or erkhemseg (esteemed);

Mr Chairman!                                                          Khündet dargaa!                                   Хүндэт дарга аа!

Your Excellency! (to an ambassador)                      Erkhemseg elchin said aa!                     Эрхэмсэг элчин сайд аа!

Foreign men are addressed as noyon (‘mister’, originally a prince, and the king in chess), and women as khatagtai:

Mr Smith!                                 Noyon Smit!                                         Ноён Смит!

Mrs/Miss Smith!                       Khatagtai Smith!                                   Хатагтай Смит!

Ladies and Gentlemen!           Noyod khatagtai naraa!                        Ноёд хатагтай нараа!

During the communist period of Mongolia’s history members of the ruling party were called ‘comrade’ (nökhör). The term was extended to non- communists as the common form of address, but is now going out of fashion.
